Married X3, FBI, Construction, Soccer & Brisket

It's been a long time, ya'll!

Almost a year since I've been able to write!

So much has happened in this past year that if I tried to tell you all of it, we'd be here for days! So, I'm going to highlight some and try to be here more often to share my joys and my sorrows as they come and go... without waiting a year for it to pass!

Biggest highlight of last year, obviously, was my daughter getting married ( but that's old news to you)! So many emotions tied up in that, I think I'm still processing! Gaining a son has been a great experience and I'm thrilled about the future! I'm learning the joy of being mom to adults... I think I like it!

I'm super proud of these guys, ya'll! SuPeR proud!

So, then, after that ... I got to experience the FBI knocking on my door. And THAT is a story that I'll have to get permission to share with you. Let me just say, though, "What in the ever lovin' heck!?!?!?"

Then, my baby brother married his sweetheart and we gained another sister/aunt and two sweet little nieces/cousins whom we adore!

My mom got a boyfriend, and then got married (I think she was secretly copying Jadyn!).

So, that was kind of a whirlwind! Insert Laney!

Oh yeah! We moved. Out of our camper. Into my mom's house. So... there's that!

That was a hard transition, as I had set my sights on travel and camper life for the unforseable future, but here we are... killing it in a house :)

We bought a construction company and Jay came home for work! And now I am learning all the things I never new I wanted to know about running a construction business, and I'm kinda having a blast! Some days it's a bit over my head and some days I just get it.

Jeremiah graduated! I think he didn't believe that day would ever come, school just didnt suit him.AT.ALL! And ya'll, just look at him! He's grown straight up before my eyes and although I knew it was coming, it has still surprised me!

He is working at the meat market here locally and doing a great job! He brings home new steaks to cook all the time and he's pretty darn good at it!

So, anyway, His bosses love him (me too, but I'm a little partial!).

He will be turning 18 soon and I don't even know how to process that. He's not ready to leave me yet, though, and for that I'm thankful! I live for his hugs! Every day he hugs me...I think he likes my hugs as much as I love his! OH! And pizza! He makes the best pizza around! My mouth is watering in anticipation for next time!

PS if you didn't receive your graduation announcement, there's a valid reason why, I'm sure! I'll be getting them off my desk and in the mail next week. promise!

We wrecked (totaled) our big truck and we flew to Fla., all in a 24hr period! Florida was amazing. The soreness and bruises were not! I need to go back!

Summer came and went way too quickly. I think something about a new company, and knowing nothing, and learning everything.... I almost forgot to enjoy the sun and lake this year, with the exception of a few days.

Benjamin and Jubilee.....

They keep growing too! And fortunately, for me, I realize that the next time I blink, they will be graduating and growing wings too! So, I am trying to soak it all up.

We decided to try out a little private school here in our town. They love it! I love it! Jay loves it! Our curriculum is still relatively the same, they just get to do it with friends and I get to focus on work when they're gone and bake cookies when they're home! We love it!

Benjamin is in soccer now, and I might be the happiest person about that! I love watching the kids play soccer! Ever since I learned about soccer the first time and Jadyn scored her first goal, I was hooked! It's my favorite time of the year! I'd give up my birthday and Christmas every year if soccer could just keep going!

Jubilee turned 7 just a bit ago and she's like a little diva, sometimes like an old lady, but always an independant/in control of things little girl! Don't believe for one second that you're going to get anything past her. And if she wants something... it's only time until you're going to give in and give it to her! She's persistent and charming and loves to help!

Benjamin believes he's 12 now. He's been saying it for 6 months and his birthday is still 3 months away! I hope he isn't disappointed when his birthday gets here and he's still only 12!

He loves fortnight, soccer, helping with ANYTHING, and Atticus! He's no diva, in fact, he could care less about fashion... until he sees the girls anyway! A girl sent a message through a friend that she likes him... let me just say, he couldn't be any more like his daddy than in that moment! What a charming little flirt!

Jay is still older than me (that's all you need to know). He isn't quite as happy to help as Ben & Jubi are, but he can pull his wieght if needed! :) (love you, baby!) Oh! Speaking of his weight, he lost a tiny human this year while he was dieting! I need some of that motivation now! He's really not that good of a boss cause he thinks vacation should start every day around 10am. But I'm cracking a whip here, it just isn't working because I think he likes the whip too much!

He's always looking for more things to get into, though, so I have a "list"!

OH! PS!

He's learned how to smoke a mean brisket in the past year! And now we eat brisket everything! Nachos! Mac n cheese stack! Potato casserole topped with brisket! Sammies! Tacos! You name it, we've probably had it! And it never gets old!

No, seriously though, we are building out a tiny house for Jeremiah! The fun has just begun! And as soon as that is completed, we'll be working on a kitchen for me to cook in and be able to sell out of! I think I'm the most excited when I think about cooking for people... and that's just what I plan to do! So, if you are bored and need a project, come here, we have plenty to do!

So, just today our house in Oklahoma sold! Finito! Done! Season over. And while I am normally sad about seasons changing, with this one I feel like I escaped before I was consumed... and so I'm thankful! This evening we had a nice steak dinner (cooked by the JER), wine & a yummy homemade cake to celebrate.

I still don't know yet how I feel about living in a house again. I loved the simplicity of camper living. But here I am, learning how to mop a 2,000 sq ft of floor again (or maybe that's Jay)! Finding the joy in having big spaces again... and closets that fill up all too quickly with things I get to find homes for! The biggest pro? Baking in a full size oven again! I've just recently remembered how much love I get to share in my baking! I need more friends who want to eat cakes, cookies and breads!
